How to write a letter:
Salutations/Greetings:
|
Goodbye:
|
Tips from Ms McCutcheon:
- When you are replying to a letter look at how they have greeted you and how they have signed off. It is a signal of how close your relationship is. If you build a relationship you can use more informal language to write to each other.
- Take note of the different topics in the letter and reply in turn. If someone has introduced themselves to you and have written about their family, schooling and hobbies you should also share yours back. If you are not comfortable telling the person about a certain topic use another to replace it.
- If you wish to continue the conversation don't forget to include questions they can answer back to you.
- Always check your font is easily readable (arial, calibri, times new roman) and of an appropriate size (size 10-12 normally).
